Sightseeing in Hawaii

Sightseeing in Hawaii never gets old, even for someone born and raised here.  Hawaiʻi’s beaches and waterfalls are simply gorgeous and the eyes never tire from taking in their beauty.

The must-sees of your sightseeing trips are the beautiful beaches (white, black, and green!), cascading waterfalls, fire-breathing volcano, wild ocean life, signature sunsets, and majestic mountains. Every island has its own attractions and beckons you to explore its beauty and make some memories.

Here are my personal favorite sights to see:

The azure waters and Mokulua islands off of Lanikai Beach, Oʻahu. I live in the area and this sight never gets old. Want to take it up a notch? Walk the beach under the stars on a moonlit night. It’s beautiful, and the sand is so soft. (But stay out of the water at night. There are sharks. You have been warned.)

The breadth and depths of Waipiʻo Valley on the Big Island. A lush, green paradise with tall valley walls, Waipiʻo Valley is beautiful from its waterfalls to its black sand seashore. There is a river that courses its way through and horses that make their home here. You can enjoy the view from the lookout or make an adventure out of exploring the valley and hiking its trails.

View of the off-shore islands from Kihei, Maui. During a quick trip to Maui, I found myself at a neighborhood park in Kihei picking plumeria flowers in the warm afternoon sun. I turned toward the ocean and was struck by the sight. I could see the West Maui Mountains, the island of Molokaʻi, the island of Lānaʻi, the small crescent of Molokini crater and the island of Kahoʻolawe, laid out before me — green emeralds in a vast sea of blue velvet.

You can seek out Hawaiʻi’s sights on your own, let Hawaiʻi happen and see what you might come upon. Or, you can take a tour to make sure you are really getting all of the highlights (and history). Check out these special discounts on Hawaii tours. It’s your choice. These are your memories. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and discover your own favorite sights to see! You can find a plethora of tour companies on each island: Oʻahu, Maui, Kauaʻi and the Big Island.
