Kualoa Ranch

Kualoa is the world’s most famous private nature reserve, encompassing more than 4000 acres on the eastern shores of Kaneohe Bay on Oahu, about 24 miles outside of Waikiki. Consisting of three valleys (Kualoa, Hakipu`u and Ka`a`awa), the lands have been handed down through six generations of the Judd-Morgan ‘ohana since 1850.

Steeped in Hawaiian cultural history and tradition, and mentioned in several ancient legends, Kualoa is “where legends are made.” Besides its rich Hawaiian historical significance, Kualoa is also the place of many paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) and Hollywood legends. There are many different guided tours offered daily to see the private nature reserve … from ATV’s, Horseback, Jurassic Valley Zipline, Jungle Expedition, Ocean Voyage and the ever popular Hollywood Movie Sites tour.

Over 50 movies and TV shows have been filmed at Kualoa since 1955’s “Mister Roberts” with James Cagney and Henry Fonda. Other notable films are Elvis’ Paradise Hawaiian Style , Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates, Pearl Harbor, Windtalkers, Mighty Joe Young, Godzilla, LOST, Hawaii Five-0 and the latest blockbuster, 2015’s Jurassic World, which has already been seen by more than 160 million movie buffs worldwide.

All tours support ongoing conservation efforts to preserve the undeveloped natural beauty of the Kualoa private nature reserve for generations to come.
