Big City Diner
Since 1998, Big City Diner has been providing Oahu with hearty food full of local flavors. This iconic eatery has now expanded to five convenient locations scattered throughout the island of Oahu. Their menu has a wide variety of options to choose from including burgers, salads, steak, noodles and more so there’s something for everyone. No wonder this restaurant has become so popular!
Some of the delicious dishes include (but are not limited to) The Really Loco, Loco Moco, a hamburger patty smothered in brown gravy and caramelized onions over hot rice and topped with a farm-fresh egg, The Classic Burger, cooked just the way you like it, and Baby Back Ribs With Guava-BBQ Sauce, a juicy slab of ribs that was slow-roasted for five hours leaving the meat fall-off-the-bone tender. If you’re looking for something on the lighter side, choose from their variety of salads such as the Upcountry BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad, chopped romaine with tomatoes, grilled chicken breast, roasted corn, crispy onions, and topped with avocado and a BBQ ranch dressing.
Looking for a more traditional Hawaiian meal? Don’t worry, they’ve got you covered! Drop by every Friday for their Hawaiian special which is served as a complete meal (available at all locations except Kaimuki, selections may vary by location). Pick your choice of meat between kalua pork, pulled pork lightly seasoned with Hawaiian sea salt, or lau lau, a scrumptious serving of pork and salted fish wrapped in savory banana leaves. Can’t decide? Get both! The meal comes with a side of rice, beef stew, lomi lomi salmon, onions with a dash of Hawaiian sea salt, haupia (coconut pudding), and a fresh slice of pineapple.
Indulge yourself after your meal with a tempting dessert. Get cozy with Mama’s Bread Pudding, a homemade bread pudding served warm and drizzled with haupia (coconut) crème sauce, macadamia nuts, and whipped cream (make it extra special by adding a scoop of ice cream), or try the Big Brownie Pie, a luscious big brownie smothered in chocolate, whipped cream, macadamia nuts, and topped with a big scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
With delicious food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere, Big City Diner is the ideal place to rest your tired feet after a day at the beach and enjoy a nice meal with your family and friends. Big City Diner is located in Kaimuki, Ward, Kailua, Pearlridge, and Waipio so be sure to check it out during your stay on the island of Oahu!
