Maui is more than beautiful beaches, warm breezes, and epic surfing. It’s also the home to Maui’s number one attraction—Haleakala (House of the Sun). Explore Haleakala has three ways to experience Maui. All start with a guided mini-bus tour up to the 10,023 ft. summit. Getting back down is where you choose your own adventure. You can ride up to the summit in our comfortable mini-bus, cruise down on a bike with a guide, or pedal down at your own pace.
Bike Maui: Guided and Self Guided Tours
Explorers will begin their downhill adventure from 6,500 ft. elevation (just outside of the park entrance) and finish in the historic town of Haiku or Paia. Guests have the choice of going at their own pace with a self-guided bike tour or being led by a guide in an escorted bike tour group. Private group tour options available.
Haleakala EcoTours offers breathtaking tours of Haleakala National Park and Upcountry Maui. Riding in style in one of our luxury vans, guests will learn about Hawaiian culture, history, geography, and ecology from our National Association for Interpretation (NAI) certified interpretive guides.
After taking in the cool, refreshing Hawaiian air from the 10,023 ft. summit, we continue the journey down the mountain for an opportunity to visit the farming area of Kula, the historic ranching town of Makawao, the North Shore surfing area of Hookipa, the quaint town of Haiku, and the lively town of Paia. Our tours are a great option for small or large private groups, wedding parties and more. Guests have the ability to build their own private tours with custom times and stops.
