Midway Youth Day
June 5, 2018
Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor, in partnership with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, hosts “Midway Youth Day.” Join us for a day filled with history and STEM activities to commemorate the 76th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway.
Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge is located 1,300 miles from Oahu. Despite its remote location, it was the center of the WWII battle that “turned the tide in the Pacific.” Midway Youth Day will introduce students to the importance of the battle, and highlight the ongoing efforts to protect and preserve the Refuge under the care of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
The program includes activities at Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor and NOAA’s Daniel K. Inouye Regional Center, both located on historic Ford Island. Lunch and transportation between sites on Ford Island are provided.
This special event is for 6th-9th grade students. Participation is limited to 100 students. Advance registration is required.
