The annual Maui Whale Festival, presented by Pacific Whale Foundation, is a series of inspiring events held during Maui’s peak humpback whale season. Each occasion and activity is designed to build awareness and share our love of marine animals and their ocean habitat. Pacific Whale Foundation’s annual Run & Walk for the Whales is one of Maui’s largest run and walking events. Participants can choose from a 1 Mile, 5k, 10k or Maui’s only 11.5 Mile course.

An interactive forum with Pacific Whale Foundation researchers and scientists, the 2018 Online Chat with the Experts will focus on current projects to support ocean health.
Music and dancing at sea with some of Hawaii’s top recording artists.
In celebration of the 38th annual Maui Whale Festival and cetaceans everywhere, join the renowned Banana Slug String Band for a special performance! And join one of Hawai`i’s top children’s book authors, Gill McBarnet, for a whale-themed storytime.
The 2nd Annual World Whale Film Festival will promote visual storytellers who are passionate about whales, dolphins and our oceans.
A masquerade gala to benefit 5 cetaceans at risk of extinction. This formal event will include a red carpet arrival, photo booth, sustainable seafood pupus, a hosted (open) bar, and special entertainment including live music by Grammy Award winning Pianist Peter Kater.
Celebrate Maui Whale Festival with a fun-filled day of live music, hula, keiki activities, face painting, marine education, food trucks and Made on Maui vendors. This community event is FREE of charge and will be held at the Maui Harbor Shops from 11am-4pm.
Pacific Whale Foundation has undertaken the Great Whale Count for the past 29 years. It is one of the world’s longest running cetacean projects involving citizen-scientists.
