Episode #61 – Kayla Blake – Actor from Acclaimed TV Shows “Sports Night” and “House of Cards”

Kayla Blake was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Los Angeles to work professionally as a dancer (Fame tv series, Disneyland, music videos). While working on Fame, she fell in love with acting and started classes immediately. Sure enough, she made the right decision and acting has been her passion ever since.

Her first professional job was on the critically acclaimed show, China Beach. Ever since, Kayla has had the good fortune of working with some incredibly talented industry professionals: Exit to Eden directed by Gary Marshall, Nowhere Man with Bruce Greenwood, One West Waikiki with Cheryl Ladd, Sports Night created by Aaron Sorkin, Hawaii with Michael Biehn, Four Christmases with Vince Vaughn & Reese Witherspoon, A Thousand Words with Eddie Murphy, House of Cards with Robin Wright, L.A.’s Finest with Jessica Alba, For All Mankind with Jodi Balfour, and most recently with Tim Robbins as a member of his theater company, The Actors’ Gang. With Tim Robbins as director and co-writer, Kayla and 11 other actors created the original play, The New Colossus, which traveled to Chile, Argentina & on a National Tour in 2020. Currently, Kayla is performing in a virtual play called We Live On. In both The New Colossus & We Live On, Kayla has the honor of sharing the stories of her Chinese and Hawaiian ancestors.
