By Team

Aloha! I am Becky Ringler, owner, planner, coordinator and officiant at Simple Kona Beach Weddings. We’re located on the Big Island of Hawaii in Kailua-Kona, and we believe in creating a fun and stress-free beach wedding or vow renewal experience for all of our couples. Whether you are a traditional or a same sex couple, whether it is your first marriage or you have done this before, whether you desire a secular or a spiritual service, we are here to make it a memorable experience, and to sprinkle your wedding or vow renewal with aloha.

I receive lots of emails and calls from couples worldwide who say they just want a simple beach wedding here in Hawaii, but don’t want the stress of doing all of the work themselves.

That’s where Simple Kona Beach Weddings comes in.

When is the Best Time to Wed?

As I mentioned earlier, we do weddings the entire year (the weather is always nice here in Kona), so just pick a month that works well for your schedule and/or has special meaning to you and we’ll go from there.

For time of day, while traditional in many places, a late morning or early afternoon wedding is not always an ideal time here in Hawaii on the beach.

The most beautiful times of day are in the morning, between 8-9am, and at the sunset hour. There are fewer people and the weather and light are more delightful. We are on the sunset side of the island here in Kona, so sunset is our most popular time of day.

We do weddings seven days a week (every day is a weekend when you are on vacation!), although we generally encourage couples to stay away from Saturdays, unless the date itself is significant or works best based on your availability (or if you have a private location), since these are typically the most crowded days on the beach.

Note that high season, holidays and special times of year – like Valentine’s Day and the World Ironman Championships in October – have special pricing, and often fill up the fastest. However, we always encourage you to email us anyway, even if it’s last minute. You never know what dates might just happen to be available!

Why Kona?

While some people think of Maui, Oahu or Kauai for their wedding on the beach, we offer fewer crowds and an island packed with tropical diversity and incredible landscapes found nowhere else on earth. Here on the Kona side (the west or leeward side) of the island, the weather is almost always sunny, and the beaches tend to have a fascinating mix of sand and lava, as well as all sorts of interesting foliage. On the same beach, you can choose to get married on the lava, right at the water’s edge, or have your toes in the sand, often with a mountain view of Hualalai, Mauna Loa, Mauna Kea, or Maui’s Haleakala in the background. We have 10 of the 12 earth’s climates right on our island, and some of the best snorkeling in all of the Hawaiian islands.

About Us

Simple Kona Beach Weddings was founded in 2015, when a friend suggested that it might be the perfect match given my training and experience. I got myself ordained and licensed to perform weddings here in the State of Hawaii, and things just snowballed into the thriving business we have today. I have a B.A. degree in Communications from Northwestern University and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and a background as a professional actress, a producer of live theatrical productions, a licensed marriage and family therapist in the State of California, and as a dating and relationship coach and published author on attracting love (Realing Him in: The Essential Guide to Manifesting Your Perfect Guy). I am now, of course, licensed by the State of Hawaii to perform weddings. My philosophy: “I believe love makes the world go ‘round and strongly believe in the joining of two people who have that commitment to each other – and to making it a fun and stress-free experience!”

My secret ingredient and an integral part to the success of Simple Kona Beach Weddings is being able to work side by side with my husband, Matt (aka “Uncle Dude”), who has both a B.A. in Communications and a B.A. in Journalism from Gonzaga University. With a history in sales and as a private chef, Matt now works almost exclusively with me, and is involved in most weddings, often taking photos on the couple’s camera or cell phone, occasionally creating an intimate picnic, and generally participating and supporting a successful wedding. We have a strong marriage and truly love one another’s company. Since we’re both outgoing, meeting couples from around the world and being able to work together to bring these couples together in love is a special treat for us both.

We Welcome You

Whether this is your first marriage or another chance at love, re-marriage or vow renewal, elopement or if you have a few close loved ones by your side, we are here to support you in making your dream of a fun, elegant, intimate, and simple Kona beach wedding or vow renewal a reality. We’ll look forward to hearing from you!
