Brook Lee and Lanai Tabura’s lifestyle show launching Fall Season with Glenn Medeiros and more
Presented by Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union and Honolulu Star-Advertiser, the “It’s a Hawaii Thing” television show and podcast is launching its fall season on Spectrum Cable’s Channel OC16. Co-hosts Brook Lee and Lanai Tabura are interviewing local personalities including international pop music star and Saint Louis School President Dr. Glenn Medeiros.
Also available on YouTube- celebrities, artists and community leaders are featured on this weekly program dedicated to anything and everything unique to life in Hawaii.

Social media personality and “foodie” content creator Lanai Tabura adds, “Our fall line-up delivers a variety of Hawaii celebrities and talent. From actors and musicians to chefs, athletes, and more.”
The fall season’s guests begin on September 7 with motivational speaker and actress Ruthie Alcaide, Hawaii-girl whose career was launched on the famous MTV “Real World” series. World-renowned reggae musician Ziggy Marley joins Brook and Lanai for the week of September 14th. Saint Louis School President Dr. Glenn Medeiros discusses his transition from growing up on Kauai and becoming an international music star before focusing his career in advanced education on September 21st. And the month rounds-out on the 28th with actor Stephen Hill who plays “T.C.” Calvin on Hawaii’s latest hit television series, Magnum PI.
Stay tuned when the October shows kick-off on the 5th with a visit from Kamasami Kong, the international radio personality whose long career has extended from Honolulu to Japan, Taiwan and beyond. The month continues with Brook and Lanai reminiscing about “Hanabata Days” (childhood memories of Hawaii) on the 12th. Born in Tokyo and raised in Hawaii, Sarah Hicks is an accomplished orchestral conductor currently leading the Minnesota Orchestra while also serving as Staff Conductor at the Curtis Institute of Music. Don’t miss Sarah when she joins the show on October 19th. Two world championship titles are just two of the many awards Kelia Moniz has won during her illustrious surfing career. She will discuss growing up in the waves of Waikiki and more when she appears on “It’s a Hawaii Thing” beginning October 26th. And season two finishes with a finale when it welcomes Bravo TV “Top Chef” Sheldon Simeon. Don’t miss Sheldon on November 2nd when this Hilo-native updates Brook and Lanai on his latest accomplishments including his popular Maui restaurant, Tin Roof.
New “It’s a Hawaii Thing” episodes release each Monday at 6:30 PM on Spectrum Cable’s OC 16 during the months of September and October.
