"Aloha,
I would like to tell you about our wedding and honeymoon in 2001.

"All I can say is the people who helped us were wonderful! My husband and I got engaged in 1999 at Paradise Cove and we decided to come back and get married in Hawaii. We are very spur-of-the-moment type of people so when we came back two years later, we really didn't have any definite plans. We found Pauline Yin at a breakfast and she made it happen for us! What a great help for our unconventional wedding! There were 8 of us, including my 74-year-old mother and my 12-year-old daughter, along with Pauline and her friend. We caught The Bus to 'Iolani Palace, had a wonderful ceremony and pictures at the Palace and King Kamehameha's Statue across the street from the Palace, all arranged by Pauline. We then strolled several blocks to Aloha Tower and had a wedding toast at the outside cabana bar.

"Afterward we took The Waikiki Trolley back to our hotel in Waikiki and had a wonderful wedding dinner. The restaurant staff stayed way beyond their closing time to let us sit on the balcony and enjoy the evening. (This was particularly amazing, since the staff were all going to lose their jobs at the end of the week because the hotel was being sold!) To round out the evening we went down the street to a little place we found in the International Market Place, a place called Coconut Willy's, for some dancing. When we asked the band for a favorite song, the leader of the band looked over at us with a smile and said, 'Oh boy those crazy people from Pennsylvania are back!' Just imagine how many people the band had played for in the two years we were gone, and they remembered us!

"My husband has been to Hawaii four times and I have been there twice, and we are planning to go there again next year. Each time we go, we take a group of friends and always have a good time. People from around here always ask, 'Isn't it expensive?' ... and we tell them NO WAY! For the same money you would spend for two weeks at Ocean City, Maryland, or Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, you can go to Hawaii for two weeks (if you don't go to a luxury resort). We tell them you have to explore and always check out the back streets, where you will find gems of people, places and things to do. The only negative thing is that plane ride from Pennsylvania, but you forget that once you're in Hawaii.

Aloha!
