Experience an instant journey into the past aboard the Sugar Cane Train. At harvest time in the days when sugar was king, steam locomotives hauled sugar cane from the fields into the mill to be processed. It's been years since a train pulled full bins of stalks down the tracks, but the Sugar Cane Train still chugs down a narrow-gauge track between Ka'anapali and Lahaina several times daily.

The ride in the reconstructed 1890 steam locomotive is 30 minutes each way. During the ride, a conductor will entertain Hawaiian-style and point out sites of interest. Thursday evenings are set aside for a sunset ride and barbecue dinner show. You'll arrive under the stars at the Ka'anapali Station where the fun begins.

The day train may be boarded in Lahaina or Ka'anapali for a round-trip excursion. The first train of the day departs at 10:15 a.m. from Ka'anapali. The last train leaves Lahaina at 4 p.m. (except Christmas Day). The train and depot are available for private parties.
