The Koloa Plantation Days Celebration began as a one day event in 1985 commemorating the establishment of Hawaii's first sugar mill in the town of Koloa in 1835. The Celebration now spans a eight-day period including over 18 family-oriented events showcasing the area's diverse cultural and historical significance.
Outdoor sports events throughout the week include tennis tournament, golf tournament and putting contest, and traditional Hawaiian games and miniature golf for the keiki. Guided walks through historic areas in Koloa and through unique wild, natural areas in Po'ipu are scheduled. There's great food, entertainment, keiki activities and an ethnic cooking demonstration and a luau and Polynesian revue.
Most events are free and suitable for the entire family. For more information about Koloa Plantation Days, visit www.koloaplantationdays.com.
