On the Beach or through a Jungle

Your horse is steady on the path as it moves through the tropical foliage. To your left the stunning drapes of a mountain range rise above you, shrouds of mist clinging to the ridgeline, rays of sun shafting through to light the dense undergrowth. To your right, the grand panorama of
the ocean stretches for miles in either direction. Fortunately, your horse is watching the trail while you catch the view.

Nestled away on a mountain overlooking picturesque Waimea Bay, on the North Shore of the island, the wranglers of Happy Trails Hawaii escort you through a rainforest zone to explore the natural beauty of this island paradise. Panoramic ocean and mountain views unfold as you ride atop well trained horses. Tropical fruit orchards allow you to sample a "taste of Hawaii." This is also the only stable on the island that welcomes children as young as 6 years to ride their own horse.

A few miles west of Haleiwa, Hawaii Polo conducts oceanfront rides for small groups on a trail along Mokuleia Beach. Riders will mount thoroughbred polo horses and ride through a 100-acre ranch and polo field. Full moon, sunset and other personalized rides are available. Also at Kualoa Ranch near Kaneohe, you'll find trail rides at a working cattle ranch.

Some stables provide transportation from Waikiki. Ask about age and weight limits.
