What’s your biking style? Renting cruiser bikes for the family and leisurely peddling along the Coconut Coast? Hopping on a mountain bike for a rugged adventure to a waterfall? Maybe something in between, like a gravity driven coast down gorgeous Waimea Canyon? Whatever your style, there are a

number of opportunities for an eco-mode of travel on Kauai.

A fun and exciting bike ride from the rim of the famed Waimea Canyon (often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Hawaii) travels from the 3500' elevation, down 12 miles of smooth winding blacktop all the way to the shores of the blue Pacific.

Still under construction, the more than four mile Kapa`a segment of the Coconut Coast path begins at Lihi Park, on the south side of Kapa`a, and continues past Kealia Beach to Ahihi Point, just past Donkey Beach. A 2.3-mile segment in Lydgate Park also is in use.

When complete, the pathway will cover 16 miles from Ahukini (near the Lihu`e Airport) to Anahola.
